What is Marist MUN?

The MBIS Model United Nations (Marist MUN) is a student-advisor run organization at Marist Brothers International School dedicated to extending its three decades of excellence as Japan’s longest running, United Nations simulation. Annually, over a hundred delegates from international schools throughout Japan and abroad participate in Marist MUN every year. This excellent event has regularly attracted local and national media attention. Entering its 37th iteration, Marist MUN is committed to bring attention to pressing transnational–often timeless–issues, and promoting diplomacy. We also aim to create a valuable opportunity for high school students to recognize their potential in areas of negotiation and conflict resolution. We achieve this by serving as chairs and selecting engaging topics for delegates to confidently demonstrate their understanding to achieve a balance between the needs of the nation they represent, and the overarching needs of the world.

“FOUNDED IN 1986, MARIST MUN IS JAPAN’S LONGEST-RUNNING MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE.”
